The New Forests Company was founded in 2004 with the vision of creating a sustainable timber resource in East Africa amidst rampant deforestation.

Whilst we are still a young company, NFC has already demonstrated a strong track record of rapidly growing revenues of tens of millions of dollars; employs over 1 331 people in East Africa – often in the rural areas where employment is needed the most – and has almost 30 000 hectares of planted forests.
The majority of our plantations are Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC™) certified meaning we voluntarily comply with the international gold standard of responsible forest management.

With our three pole treatment plants (ISO 9001 and 14001 certified) and two sawmills strategically positioned, we are able to service markets across East and southern Africa and have successfully supplied into, or sourced timber from, the markets of Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Mozambique, Burundi, Malawi, the DRC and Zambia.
All of our timber is treated with creosote or Copper Chromic Arsenic (CCA) to meet internationally recognised quality standards. We carry large volumes of stock at all times enabling us to meet large orders at short notice.
We are also interested in purchasing timber from local third party suppliers and smallholder farmers to maintain our high stock levels.
